Proven – A vitamin doubles the possibility of cure in the treatment of Hepatitis C

vitamin-aThe “World Journal of Gastroenterology” published an article in December 2011 where it confirmed the beneficial effect of the inclusion of vitamin D in the treatment of hepatitis C when used in conjunction with the use of pegylated interferon and ribavirin. The importance and benefits of vitamin D for those who have liver disease has been speculated for some time, but now it has been confirmed that a simple and inexpensive vitamin could increase the chances of a cure.

The new study was carried out in Israel to determine if indeed the addition of vitamin D, a potent immune-modulator, enhances the therapeutic response in the treatment of hepatitis C.
